PRF Facelift

Platelet-rich Fibrin (PRF) Treatment – A Non-Surgical Facelift

What is Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF)?

Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) is a non-surgical, all natural, FDA cleared treatment that rejuvenates the skin by stimulating cell renewal and triggering the production of collagen and elastin to provide a lifting and tightening effect on the skin. Specifically, it helps to restore shape, smooth rough skin texture, and revitalize dull or gray skin tones. Also known as a non-surgical facelift, PRF is a great solution for anyone who wants to look younger and improve the appearance of his or her skin without surgery or downtime and achieve a youthful glow.

What Does PRF Facial Treat?

  • Fine Lines and Wrinkles
  • Crepe Skin
  • Tear Trough
  • Smile Lines
  • Marionette Lines
  • Cheek Volume
  • Lip Border
  • Crow’s Feet
  • Dark Eye Circles

How Does Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) Work?

Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) therapy works using the body’s own natural healing powers to slow and help to reverse the aging process. It’s a revolutionary repair system that places growth factors in the exact location where we want the skin to repair and rejuvenate itself by working to increase your own collagen. The treatment involves harvesting platelets from the patient’s own blood in order to inject them into problem skin areas, starting with the extraction of a minimal amount of the patient’s blood. This is then placed in a centrifuge to spin down the blood, which separates the red blood cells from the platelet rich fibrin. Platelets contain a high content of “growth factors” – proteins that help to heal injured tissue or damaged skin. Upon re-injection the platelets release their growth factors which trigger surrounding cells to proliferate, in turn stimulating repair, increasing volume and rejuvenating the skin. Generally, you need two to three sessions after your first treatment.

How Does PRF Differ from Traditional PRP?

Although there are some basic similarities between platelet-rich plasma and platelet-rich fibrin, Platelet -Rich Fibrin stands out as a superior treatment option. They both require the same blood concentrate therapy concept, but PRF is 100% natural and unmodified, while PRP uses additives and chemicals in their vials. PRP requires more blood to be taken than PRF, and PRF is spun at a lower speed creating more tissue healing factors within PRF than is typically seen in PRP. In addition, the lower spin speed causes less trauma to the individual cells of the blood, allowing more stem cells to remain in the final PRF product.

What Can I Expect During a PRF Treatment?

First, we will consult with you to determine if you are a suitable candidate for this treatment. Then, we will draw a small amount of your own blood and spin it in our centrifuge to separate platelets from other blood cells to increase their concentration. A topical numbing agent may be applied to the areas we are treating. We will then inject the highly concentrated platelet-rich fibrin into the skin. The entire procedure takes 30 minutes to an hour to complete and there is no downtime!

What Type of Results Can I Expect?

The visibility of expected benefits and results of the PRF treatment is typically seen after six weeks from initial treatment. Long-term effects, such as skin tightening, collagen production and enhanced skin quality, may take up to three to four months to be noticed and can last from six to 12 months. We recommend a minimum of 3 treatments for most patients spaced six to eight weeks apart.
